Ambitious Wolves loan swoop for Mina should go down well with club’s fans

Newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers have launched an ambitious loan swoop for Barcelona’s World Cup star Yerry Mina, according to the Sun.

What’s the story, then?

The Sun report that Wolves are relying on super-agent Jorge Mendes to make the bold swoop happen after a summer that saw the defender, who has been outcast at the Nou Camp, shine at the World Cup out in Russia.

They say that Wolves would offer Mina the first-team football he desires as he faces an uncertain future, despite only joining the Catalan giants in January.

The report claims that Mina’s preference is to join a bigger club and that Everton and Tottenham are interested in his signature, but Wolves’ interest, led by Mendes, shows that they mean business.

Mina would be a popular choice

We put it to the Wolves fans that hijacking Everton’s interest would be a good move to round off a back three alongside Conor Coady and Willy Bolly and 66 per cent of them agreed.

This is an ambitious swoop and landing one of the best central defenders from the summer’s showpiece would be yet another clear signal of Wolves’ huge intentions and their ability to make an instant splash on their return to the big time.
