Wolverhampton Wanderers bolstered their chances of again playing in Europe next season after pulling off arguably the result of the weekend on Sunday afternoon.
The west Midlands outfit snagged all three points in north London as they edged Tottenham Hotspur in a five-goal thriller, which left fans drooling over the performance of Diogo Jota.
Spurs twice held the lead in the first half before Raul Jimenez popped up with the winner in the 73rd minute with a coolly slotted finish.
Wolves have now overtaken Jose Mourinho’s men into sixth place to go within just three points of the top four.
Jota bagged the second equaliser before he was withdrawn with just over ten minutes to go.
Here’s what fans have been saying about the Portuguese winger…
Just seen Spurs vs Wolves highlights.
• Jota is in incredible form. Right place right time for his goal, his ball to Jimenez for the assist was beautiful.
• My hot take? Wolves will get 4th…or win Europa League. Consistency is key and they have it… #Wolves #WWFC #TOTWOL

Probable not our best performance, particularly at the back at times. But, lethal on the break & a huge win. Jota outstanding throughout. Jimenez lethal when it mattered. The dream is well & truly alive… #wolves #wwfc

A range of superlatives were used to describe Jota’s stunning display, including “immense” and “outstanding” while one supporter brandished him as an “absolute animal”.
His goal and assist at Spurs took his tally for a total of 21 direct contributions in 35 appearances this term, also his sixth strike in his last three outings, per Transfermarkt.
The 23-year-old managed to be a threat at either end of the pitch, recording four successful dribbles, four tackles, a 96% passing accuracy and even drew three fouls, via SofaScore.
His trending form has been noted by a couple of fans who are claiming that Jota ‘is back’.
Jota today was absolutely sensational… A pleasure to watch… Doc is back to his best too… Should be looking at winning 6/7 of our remaining games and see where it takes us… #wwfc

One member of the Wolf Pack suggested he was in the form of his life while another added that he was “absolutely sensational”.
There was even a comparison made to Manchester United forward Anthony Martial, but fans should be careful in what they say given their links to the winger in the past month.
