Wolves could challenge Liverpool to the signing of PSG winger Goncalo Guedes, according to French newspaper L’Équipe.
PSG are looking to offload a number of players this summer to meet UEFA’s financial fair play regulations, and Guedes looks set to be one of their casualties.
According to reports, PSG are looking to raise £39million from the sale of Guedes and are looking for clubs who could meet that valuation.
Interestingly, L’Équipe also report that Wolves have entered the picture, as Guedes’s agent Jorge Mendes was instrumental in bringing compatriot Ruben Neves to the West Midlands.
Guedes is rated at £36m by transfermarkt.com as the report claims, PSG will want to hold out for a little more than that.
It’s certainly not the wildest rumour surrounding Wolves this summer, and the Mendes connection gives the story some credence, but the question remains whether Guedes would want to move to Wolves instead of staying at the Mestalla.
If Nuno pulls it off, it will be a fantastic signing for Wolves, as the 21-year-old showed great promise last season, scoring five and assisting five in La Liga, while bamboozling defences with his speed and dribbling.
The price is high at nearly £40million, but he is one of Europe’s brightest stars and would join an already dazzling attacking line up at Wolves.
