Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez looked as though he was going to be the hero for his side after scoring a brilliant goal to put his team 2-0 up in the FA Cup semi-final against Watford at Wembley on Sunday.

Still holding that lead with just over 10 minutes remaining, the west Midlands outfit looked destined for a meeting with Manchester City at the same venue next month.

Even after Gerard Deulofeu pulled one back in the 79th minute Nuno Santo's men still wouldn't have expected to concede again, and Jimenez was awarded the man of the match award for his performance by the BT Sport commentary team.

Of course we all know what happened from there, and now Wolves must pick themselves up and dust themselves off to try and secure a seventh-place finish in the Premier League, where they are still well positioned.

After scoring what looked as though it would be the deciding goal until the final seconds of stoppage time, the result would have been particularly gutting for the Mexico international.

Having only completed a club-record £30m permanent move to Molineux just a few days earlier, the 27-year-old would have been desperately hoping to help the club to the final.

But it wasn't to be, and he was visibly quite emotional afterwards as you can see in the following image.

This one will certainly be difficult viewing for Wolves supporters who will be feeling down in the dumps today themselves, but all is not lost as they still have a real chance of securing a Europa League spot if things go their way in the coming weeks.
