Tim Spiers has said that Luke Matheson will be sent back on loan to Rochdale if they can get a deal over the line for the 17-year-old on transfer deadline day.
It didn’t look like Wolves would be too busy today, but now it looks as though they could be close to securing Matheson. He is said to be having a medical with the Molineux outfit, whilst Sky Sports are reporting that a fee of £1m has been agreed between the two teams.
Now, Spiers has revealed that should the deal be completed, he will go back to his current club for the rest of the campaign. You can see the tweet below.
I’m told if Wolves get the Luke Matheson deal over the line today he’ll be loaned back to Rochdale for the rest of the season #WWFC

Matheson, of course, is already a record-breaker even at his tender age. He is Rochdale’s youngest-ever player, having made his debut against Bury in 2018 at the age of just 15 years and 336 days. He has gone on to make 32 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
