According to the Daily Mail, Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on a loan move for Benfica forward Raul Jimenez.

The 27-year-old Mexican striker joined Benfica in 2015 and scored six goals and made six assists last season in the Primeira Liga.

According to the Mail, Jimenez is valued at £34million by the Portuguese club, and the loan move includes an initial fee of £3million for the striker.

The 6ft1 forward has scored 13 goals in 80 league appearances for Benfica, although he only started 12 of those games.

Jimenez has been named in Mexico's World Cup squad and has notched up 13 goals for his country.

Jimenez will be Wolves' third signing of the summer, after they retained the services of Benik Afobe and Willy Boly who were both on loan at the club last season.

Wolves fans have been reacting to the news that the player is set to join the club, with supporters divided about the impact the Mexican striker will have for Wolves.
