Revealed: 70% of Wolves fans would rather loan swoop for Sturridge than Silva

For all Wolves’ huge and effective spending over the past two summers, Nuno Santo still does not have a striker he can categorically rely upon to score goals, certainly not in the top flight.

Leo Bonatini led the attack last season and produced some good performances, becoming a popular figure, but did not score a league goal from the 4th December until the end of the season.

He clearly struggled with the burden carrying an attack through the slog of the English domestic season, which does not bode well for his hopes of being the prolific hitman Wolves need to power their top flight return.

Mexico international Raul Jimenez has been brought in to share the load, and may well start the season up front but the continued pursuit of Andre Silva also suggests that Nuno Santo is not content with his striking options.

So, we asked whether another ambitious loan swoop – for Daniel Sturridge – would be even better than landing Silva and Wolves fans think it would.

70 per cent of Old Gold supporters would rather have Brummie Sturridge, who must be considered a Premier League legend given he has 75 goals in 200 top-flight appearances as per Transfermarkt, than Milan outcast Silva, as shown by the full results below…
