Barry Douglas was integral to Wolves’ promotion campaign last time around so his reported impending move to Leeds United is something of a surprise.
If Old Gold fans didn’t have such faith in Nuno Santo’s current regime and the arrival of full-back Jonny Castro to soften the blow, it may be cause for deeper concern at Molineux.
However, despite Castro’s arrival, the feeling persists that Wolves will need to dip into the transfer market once more to land a suitable upgrade and reports have linked them with Bristol City man Joe Bryan in recent days.
With Bryan able to operate at both left-back and left midfield, he appears to be perfectly suited to the ambitious left wing-back role vacated by Douglas and he certainly has the delivery from wide areas to replace what Wolves will lose when the Scotsman departs.
So, we asked Wolves fans whether the Robins man would be an upgrade on Douglas and the voting could not have been tighter.
Half of those who responded said he was and the other half would rather still have Douglas, as the full poll results below show…
