Wolves are back. After three poor matches without a win, they gave us all a timely reminder of just how impressive they've been this season.

Their incredible 3-1 victory over a toothless Arsenal was one of their best performances since being promoted, taking their tally to 16 points from games against the Premier League's top six.

It's a phenomenal record and of late, a large part of that has been down to Diogo Jota. The Portuguese sensation took a while to get going in the top-flight but last Wednesday night he showed everything Arsenal were lacking and displayed why he's now one of the best forwards in the division.

He was direct, energetic and had a ruthless in front of goal. How the Gunners are crying out for a player like him.

On the chalkboard

Before December 5, Jota hadn't scored a single goal all season. He'd also failed to assist his teammates and had failed to start in any of his last four games.

But Wolves' win over Chelsea on that particular date was a catalyst. Not only for how the club's campaign would turn out, but for Jota too.

That match saw Nuno deploy two in attack with the 22-year-old paired with Raul Jimenez and they haven't looked back.

Since then, Jota has played 20 games. He's scored nine in the process and also claimed six assists. For someone who hadn't turned up until the winter months, it's a remarkable turnaround. One that's also seen him called up to the Portugal national team for the first time.

In another year, Jota could easily have been in the running for the PFA Young Player of the Year and his sensational display against Arsenal typified this.

Raul Jimenez is turning it on for Wolves and Mexico right now! He definitely deserves the song in the video below...

Since Nuno opted to regularly go with two up top twenty games ago, the forward has played in 17 matches, scoring seven goals and laying on four assists.

Jimenez has often been the star man this term but Wednesday evening gave us a glimpse that his strike partner might possibly eclipse him next term.
