Barcelona want to sign Adama Traore from Wolves this summer, per The Daily Mail.

What’s the word?

The report states that the Catalan club have intensified their efforts to sign the Spanish winger amid fears that Real Madrid could gazump them in their bid.

Traore has emerged as a genuinely exceptional winger this season, scoring four goals in the Premier League and also registering seven assists for Wolves.

Of course, he began his career at Barca, spending 10 years as a youth-team player at the club and also played for Barcelona B, though he featured just four times for the senior side.

Barca did have a buy-back option on the winger, though that is said to have expired when he moved to Middlesbrough from Aston Villa.

Cash in

Wolves have a perfect opportunity to receive something of a small fortune for the Spaniard this summer.

He has been in exceptional form this season but, before this season, he had scored just once in the Premier League.

Per Transfermarkt, he is valued at £25.2m but a move away could see Wolves demand at least double that, purely because of the purple patch he is enjoying.

For true Wolves fans only: How much did each of these players cost?

It could be that he has become a fearsome winger and will forever be exactly that or perhaps this season is an outlier.

Wolves, thus, ought to consider cashing in if Barca do come knocking for their former youngster.

Meanwhile, one man is becoming too involved with Wolves' affairs!
