What Wolves fans have been saying about Aston Villa’s John McGinn on Molineux Mix

After Aston Villa were promoted back to the Premier League on Monday, Wolves fans can now look forward to the prospect of a Midlands derby in the top-flight next term.

It could be a thrilling encounter between two of the best teams to come up from the Championship in the last couple of years.

Both teams are likely to have completely different ambitions, however. For Wolves, their aims will surely be to sustain themselves in the Premier League. As for Dean Smith’s men, they will be simply trying to stay in the division.

Having witnessed their rivals achieve promotion, Wolves fans have been quick to share their thoughts on one of their star men.

John McGinn was the best player on the park at Wembley and in scoring during the play-off final capped off a wonderful first season in English football.

As a result, he’s been the subject of debate on the forum Molineux Mix, where comments were left on whether he’d fit into Nuno Santo’s squad. Here’s what they’ve said.

Any surprise comments?

It’s hardly a surprise to see some of the hate towards him given Wolves and Villa are rivals, but some of their general views on how he is as a player are quite surprising.

It remains to be seen whether McGinn can cut it in the Premier League but he’s certainly not short on quality. So to see him branded as rubbish and his quality deemed laughable compared to Wolves’ team is somewhat of a shock.

We’ve found Raul Jimenez’s No. 1 fan and… it’s a little scary. Check out the video below to see for yourself…

The Villa man scored seven goals and claimed nine assists in 2018/19 so he’d certainly add something to Nuno’s side.

Whether he’d get in ahead of Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker is another matter though. A certain fan suggested they’d wipe the floor with Villa’s midfield which would be alarming given that’s one of their main strengths.

Who comes out on top when the two teams meet next campaign will be fascinating in light of this.
