Wolves’ Connor Ronan leaves Republic of Ireland fans drooling

Wolves’ Connor Ronan was busy earning the plaudits over the international break as the 21-year-old was in fine form for Republic of Ireland’s U21 side.

Introduced as a substitute, he helped the Irish come back against Sweden to win 4-1 in what was an incredibly impressive performance.

He assisted Troy Parrott’s goal with their third strike of the match as he threaded a wonderful ball in behind, a moment that saw fans of his national side flock to Twitter.

One supporter hailed the youngster as a class act while a further individual noted that his display in the middle of the park was a masterclass of a performance.

Ronan broke through at Wolves in 2016/17, appearing four times in the Championship. However, he’s only gone onto play a total of 13 times for the senior side.

The youngster has since spent a period on loan at Slovakian side FC DAC. He played 14 times for them last term and has also featured on 16 occasions in 2019/20. He even scored in Europa League qualifying.

Now making great strides at international level, it remains to be seen whether Ronan can convince Wolves to give him another shot once his two-year loan expires.

Here’s the best of the reaction from his performance on Tuesday evening.
