Wolverhampton Wanderers celebrated their recent promotion to the English Premier League with a win on Sunday, beating Birmingham City 2-0 at Molineux.
Now just one point away from winning the division, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side supplied their usual professional and consistent performance to get themselves ahead in the match within half an hour before substitute Benik Afobe doubled their advantage with a late strike three minutes from time.
It was Afobe’s fifth goal for the club since joining on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth in January and fans have been so pleased with his form that they’r eager to sign him on a permanent basis this summer to provide attacking depth on their return to the top-flight.
The 25-year-old certainly appears to be enjoying his second spell at the club and although he’s not getting guaranteed starts, he’s proving his worth as a squad player for the club.
Fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the player after Sunday’s match…
