Wolves fans hated Leo Bonatini’s performance in defeat to Villa

English Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a damaging blow to their automatic promotion hopes after a heavy 4-1 defeat away to Aston Villa.

Still in pole position to go straight up, a victory over the Villans would have all but assured the achievement, but they were stopped in their tracks with their heaviest loss of the season so far.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side looked well off the pace against Steve Bruce’s outfit, especially in the second half when they completely collapsed and conceded three goals.

Fans were left fuming with the performance and had particular criticism for striker Leo Bonatini after a laboured display in attack.

After a red hot start to the season, producing a period of form that resulted in 12 goals and six assists, the Brazilian now hasn’t scored since December and fans have lost patience with him.

Many don’t want to see him play again before the end of the season, believing he isn’t going to have his loan from Saudi club Al-Hilal made permanent.
