Wolves fans not happy with Jon Moss’ appointment as referee for Man United game

Premiership Picks

Wolves’ season opener against Leicester City was a bore draw on the face of it, however the game was slightly marred by controversy when Leander Dendoncker had a goal ruled out following a video assistant referee review.

The Belgian had slotted home on the 53rd minute but it was chalked off after VAR showed it had hit the arm of teammate Willy Boly just seconds before.

New laws of the game state that any goal scored or created through the use of a hand or arm, regardless of whether it was intentional or accidental, will be disallowed.

The VAR official who made that very decision on Sunday was Jon Moss and it has been announced that he will be the man in the middle for their next Premier League fixture against Manchester United on Monday evening – much to the dismay of the Molineux support.

One fan sarcastically said ‘what could possibly go wrong’, whilst another supporter said the home faithful should give him the reception he deserves.

Others labelled him ‘the most unfit ref ever’ as one further fan questioned how he was still officiating in the Premier League.

Moss was even brandished as one of the two ‘clowns’ in charge of the game with Paul Tierney scheduled to operate VAR duties.

Here’s the best of the reaction…
