The loan signing of Mexican hitman Raul Jimenez from Benfica is so far proving to be a shrewd bit of business from Nuno Espirito Santo.
Wolves‘ official Twitter account has posted in appreciation of his exploits for the Midlands club throughout his first few months in the Premier League.
He has had a direct hand in five of their 11 goals this season, scoring twice and assisting three more. The No.9’s finishing can sometimes leave something to be desired with seven big chances missed this season, the second most of any player in the division, but there is much more to his game than goals.
His ability to bring others into play was on show against Palace as he assisted for Matt Doherty. He acts as a focal point for the attack that allows Portuguese pace-men Helder Costa and Diogo Jota to make runs in behind and bides time for the wing-backs to get forward into dangerous areas.
The Express and Star understands that there is a £30m option-to-buy in his loan deal. Wolves fans react below to his first eight games in gold and black.
Need a permanent deal done in January please.
So much more than just a striker👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

He’s been a big component of our successful start to the season. The way he’s slotted in you’d think he’d been playing in the Premier League for years! Hope we can get him on a permanent deal in January…

The bloke is such an important piece in what we are trying to create. Get him tied down

The £30m option is pricy but just haggle a bit and sign him up. Top fella, runs his socks off and more goals will come.

Fabulous number 9. Got it all. Lots more goals and assists to come yet

Looking forward to this guy becoming our record signing next summer! Will be a bargain if he carries on like this.
