Wolves could be about to make a splash in the transfer market at long last after a host of names were linked with a move to the club this week.

The club are expected to confirm the signing of young striker Leonardo Campana at some stage in the near future after the player was spotted at Compton, but he's more than likely going to be part of the U23 setup for the time being.

Another forward mooted is AEK Athens and former Norwich City man, Nelson Oliveira.

Talks between the club and player were confirmed by The Athletic's Tim Spiers on Twitter, which has led to many fans discussing the potential of seeing the 28-year-old at Molineux.

Some were behind the move, claiming that it was good business considering the lack of solid squad depth at manager Nuno Santo's disposal.

Here's what has been said...

Oliveira was described as 'unspectacular' but had solid potential as being the second string to Jimenez while one fan believed he would be a 'good backup option' as it is exactly what the club needs.

Others agreed and put their faith into the manager...

One member of the Molineux faithful claimed he would trust Nuno even if he wanted to sign Mickey Mouse.

Another supporter added that the signing could be 'very shrewd' as the Portuguese striker is very good technically and can finish too.

However, not everyone was on the same wavelength as many were against making such a move this month.

'Underwhelming' and 'flaky' were two words used to describe Oliveira.

This season in the Greek Superleague, the 28-year-old frontman has netted ten times from 20 appearances in all competitions, but his overall record in English football is far from enthralling having bagged 32 goals in 113 matches across the Championship and Premier League, per Transfermarkt.

The former Norwich City man is also a client of super-agent Jorge Mendes, who often has a part to play in many transfers at the west Midlands club, which has led to some supporters questioning his involvement.

One pondered whether the Canaries' Delia Smith was actually brokering the deal rather than their go-to Uncle Jorge, while another said Oliveira was awful and that he hoped it was merely speculation.

While further members of the Molineux fanbase questioned if the Athens striker was any better than Leo Bonatini who had been sent out on loan to Vitoria de Guimaraes.

It remains to be seen if this signing has any legs, only time will tell, but Wolves certainly do have a need for extra options off the bench - and for the time being, a temporary or short-term deal for Oliveira isn't the worst scenario out there.

Call yourself a Wolves expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?

With league leaders Liverpool on Thursday night, there's slim hope that any new signing would be able to come straight into the squad, so it could be another week or so until there are new faces amongst Nuno's matchday squad.

And in other news, Wolves simply have to re-ignite their interest in this highly sought-after teen following a stunning display at the weekend...
