Wolves claimed their first win of the Europa League group stage against Besiktas last night and despite contributing to a last-gasp winner, not everyone is pleased with the contribution of Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese international showed composure to guide a cross into the feet of Willy Boly in added time, with the defender slotting beyond Loris Karius to give Wanderers a famous win.

Neves has had mixed fortunes this season, summed up by his WhoScored average Premier League rating of 6.51, and has failed to reproduce the quality he showed when he scored a spectacular long-range effort against Manchester United.

Perhaps most surprising is the decline in his pass accuracy, from 81% last season to 73% in the league this campaign, and with a success rate of 77% last night it is clear to see why some have been quick to criticise his display.
