Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race to sign Besiktas defender Domagoj Vida and have submitted a £16million bid, according to Turkish news outlet Sabah.
The 29-year-old centre-back only signed for Besiktas in January but has struggled to settle at the Turkish club.
The Croatian defender impressed with his World Cup performances, scoring his country’s second goal against Russia in the Quarter Finals and was a rock at the heart of the defence as his country reached the final of the tournament.
Competition for his signature is fierce this summer with a number of Premier League teams linked with the hardman, including Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, West Ham and Arsenal but now Wolves have entered the fray and have reportedly bid £16million for the defender.
Wolves have made a number of big name signings this summer including Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio, and Vida would be the latest in a very productive transfer window for Nuno Espirito Santo.

Vida would been an outstanding signing but can’t see it. Arsenal and Liverpool also chasing #wwfc

I can see wolves spoiling the team with all these signings, its going to be difficult to get these players to gel!

Vida would be a fantastic signing. Besiktas want to sell but Arsenal are also interested apparently. Let’s hope he chooses us instead!
