Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to be in for a busy January transfer window after manager Nuno Santo revealed his intentions to bolster his playing squad.
The west Midlanders are flying high in sixth place whilst they have also advanced into the knockout stages of the Europa League, but such fixture burden can often really test a team’s squad depth.
Which is why the Wolves chief may finally be going against his beliefs of having a small tight-knit squad having used just 19 players in the top-flight.

This week the club have been linked to RB Salzburg striker Hwang Hee-Chan as The Telegraph claim Nuno has made him a prime target ahead of next season.
It is believed that he could be available for between €20m-€25m (£16.9m-£21m) in January although he would likely be loaned back to his current club for the remainder of the season.
Reaction on social media has been heavily in favour of the club pursuing him.

Hwang is a serious talent. Percy tweeting means it’s got legs. Let’s go get him @Wolves

I’ve followed Salzburg ever since Haaland came to my attention, and Hwang is pure class, 9 goals 10 assists in 20 games this season, yes please

Fits our style of play perfectly, would be a coup if we could get him.

‘Pure class,’ ‘top player’ and ‘serious signing’ were three phrases used by the Molineux faithful with one joked that the Korean would guide them all the way to the Europa League final.
Hee-Chan has scored nine goals and assisted 14 this campaign, per Transfermarkt, including two contributions against reigning champions Liverpool in the Champions League.
On Tuesday evening the return leg played out with many supporters claiming to have been impressed…

One supporter said he thought of Fosun having watched him in action while another labelled him an ‘outstanding’ player.
Although a further member of the old gold faithful took the opportunity to take a swipe at Diogo Jota by calling him a fraud and that he should get out of Molineux.
Jota in the mud, get that fraud out my club

It remains to be seen whether or not this interest is concrete, but there’s no hiding that Wolves need further options if they are to achieve their long-term plans.
Hee-Chan would surely go a long way to helping that, but they’ll face stiff competition from some of their Premier League rivals to clinch him.
Whose Line Is It Anyway: Michael Owen, Garth Crooks or Mark Lawrenson?
