Wolves return to Premier League action this weekend as they host Southampton at Molineux on Sunday, which will mark their first game back since the scalp of Manchester City before the international break.

The west Midlands club stunned the league by beating Pep Guardiola's side 2-0 to make it three straight victories in all competitions.

Are Gareth Southgate's Aston Villa roots the reason behind the Wolves player in the video below being overlooked?...

During the last two weeks, the rumour mill has been in full swing, considering there has been a lack of games in the top-flight, and Wolves have felt the brunt of that as both Ruben Neves and Willy Boly have been linked with exits.

But it's not all bad as Birmingham Live have given a positive transfer update as they claim the club would like to add a centre-back and a central midfielder in January.

On the Chalkboard

While the ears of many supporters at Molineux should prick up, one member of Nuno Santo's squad will feel the complete opposite.

Morgan Gibbs-White has had a mixed spell at Wolves since making his debut aged just 16 back in January 2017.

Since then, he has made 63 appearances but has been limited to only one start in the Premier League this term as the likes of Neves, Joao Moutinho, and Leander Dendoncker have been preferred over him.

Although no names have been reported, the west Midlanders were linked with Franck Kessie and Mario Lemina over the summer, but nothing came to fruition.

Any addition in the midfield area would push Gibbs-White even further down the pecking order, and it's easy to forget he's still only 19, so the consequence of that will undoubtedly be towards his progression as a footballer.

If Nuno doesn't quite fancy him to make his mark this season, the youngster may have to look elsewhere to get his development back on track.

Having been a member of the Young Lions squad in pretty much every age group since the U16s, he wouldn't be short of viable suitors himself - he's even thrown his own name into the hat to become captain of Aidy Boothroyd's U23 side.
