Wolves could be in line for a huge boost this week as one of their injured players is nearing a return to first-team action with The Athletic's Tim Spiers providing the latest on Twitter this week.

What's he said?

The west Midlanders face a crucial Molineux double-header as they host Espanyol in a Europa League Round of 32 opener on Thursday evening before welcoming relegation-threatened Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday.

Their chances of success have been bolstered after it was revealed that wing-back Ruben Vinagre was back in training following an injury.

The 20-year-old suffered a hamstring issue late on in their FA Cup replay against Manchester United last month, which led to manager Nuno Santo describing it as a "massive blow".

But, according to Spiers, Vinagre is back in training, he said:

Massive boost

The Portuguese wing-back may be playing second fiddle to Jonny on the left-hand side at times, but he's still managed to rack up 23 appearances in all competitions, and Nuno's comments when he picked up the injury only emphasise how highly he is rated at the club.

Vinagre has played in some crucial games this season, such as their UEL qualifying tie at Torino and in the top-flight against Manchester City and Liverpool.

The games are once again going to come thick and fast for the Wolf Pack, so numbers and strength in depth is really going to be tested and the return of any squad member is going to give the boss viable options from the bench or if he looks to rotate.

In the Europa League group stages, Vinagre has recorded the second-highest amount of dribbles per game (2.8) of any player in the Wolves squad to feature in three or more matches, which shows he's a very good option to have at your disposal.
