Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Patrick Cutrone has claimed he would love to meet club legend Steve Bull after watching highlights of him to help him improve at the club.

What's he said?

The Italian striker joined the west Midlands outfit in the summer for £16m from Serie A giants AC Milan, but he has struggled to adapt to life in England as of yet.

Cutrone has scored just two goals from 17 appearances this season, although only three of those have been starts in the Premier League, per Transfermarkt.

He arrived with a knack for scoring goals in Europe, having netted ten goals across two campaigns, which surely would have been part of the reason to pick him up with the club battling it out in the Europa League, but it just hasn't gone to plan.

Speaking with the Daily Mail this week, the 21-year-old spoke about his form and upbringing, he said:

"I had posters of former Italy strikers Filippo Inzaghi and Marco Borriello. I watched YouTube videos of Marco van Basten and George Weah.

"Since coming to Wolves, I’ve seen videos of Steve Bull, of what he did at Wolves and at Italia 90. It would be great to meet him.

"I'm calm about it. I've always scored goals in my career.

"We've shown with recent results what a good team we are and that we can compete with anyone. I'm starting to settle here and I feel loved by the fans and my team-mates.

"Goals will come."

Bull's influence

Wolves fans have been full of praise for Cutrone in the past so they'll surely be equally as happy to see him wanting to learn from a club legend like Bull. After all, he who netted 306 times over 13 years at Molineux.

To mention him in the same breath as some of the greats like Inzaghi and van Basten will probably have delighted the former England striker himself too.

It'll no doubt help his cause in trying to meet the 54-year-old, and that arrangement could pay dividends.

If anyone can help Cutrone settle in the west Midlands, then it is probably the man that is loved and adored by many at the club.

Goals will have to start to come otherwise he'll have no hope in breaking Nuno's favourite partnership of Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota as the pair contributed towards 34 of their 47 goals in the league last season.
