Wolverhampton Wanderers look set for a busy transfer window next month after manager Nuno Santo revealed that he intends to strengthen his squad.

A couple of months ago, BirminghamLive reported that the club wanted to make signings in key central areas such as in defence and in midfield.

So here's how they might look following January's potential spending spree...

How Wolves could look after the January transfer window

Three additions next month could change the landscape of Nuno's starting line up, and as a result, the 3-5-2 formation returns.

Firstly, in defence, the club have been mooted to sign Freiburg centre-back Robin Koch, and as a right-footed ball-playing defender he could fit perfectly in a back three that contains skipper Conor Coady and Willy Boly should he return from injury by the time February swings around.

The Sun claim just £15m would be enough to clinch him from the Bundesliga.

Another incoming from central Europe could be striker Hwang Hee-Chan, who has been the unsung member of RB Salzburg's strikeforce. The Telegraph believe the club are planning to swoop in for the Korean next month, with him expected to cost between €20m and €25m (£16.9m and £21.2m).

It is this move that would see Nuno revert back to the formation he began the season with, even despite the 23-year-old being able to play on either wing.

And behind him in midfield could be a very exciting addition in Dani Olmo, who the club have continued to scout this season, according to Sportske Novosti. Earlier in the season, the same source quoted €25m (£21.2m) as a possible fee for the Spanish attacking midfield maestro.

Adama Traore drops back into a right-wing role as a result, thus seeing Matt Doherty drop out of the starting line up while Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Jonny and Raul Jimenez all keep their places too.
