Wolverhampton Wanderers are in need of squad additions, and quick.

The west Midlanders have suffered in recent weeks after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United in a third-round replay.

Most damning of all, the strength of their bench epitomised the dark road ahead - two youngsters were named in Benny Ashley-Seal and Oskar Buur, a recently returned from injury Morgan Gibbs-White and the two centre-backs that can't be trusted ahead of central midfielders in the back three, Ryan Bennett and Max Kilman.

Following the defeat, fans took to Twitter to take a swipe at the board as well as sporting director Kevin Thelwell, who they are becoming increasingly frustrated with going on their reaction.

They want signings, and they want them now.

On Monday, Wolves are set to make their first signing of the window, but it's with the future in mind as 19-year-old Ecuadorian striker Leonardo Campana is reportedly joining the club from Barcelona SC.

That won't win fans back anytime soon, but maybe a move for long-time target Divock Origi would?

According to Tim Nash at WolvesBite, the Liverpool frontman remains on their radar having enquired about him last year. He even goes on to suggest that he could be a possibility this month.

Origi's exploits as the hero that guided the Merseyside outfit through the Champions League are a distant memory now as the Belgian striker has struggled for game time, playing just 410 minutes of Premier League action this term.

His standing in the pecking order is sure to decrease now that Jurgen Klopp has bolstered his attacking ranks with the addition of Takumi Minamino, who is a much better fit for the German's system.

He can play on either wing as well as a false nine, which is often Roberto Firmino's regular role, and not one suited to the 6 foot 1 presence of Origi.

Call yourself a Wolves expert? How much did each of these January signings cost?

Wolves have a desperate need for a striker after they stupidly allowed Patrick Cutrone to leave earlier this month as it has increased the burden on the burnt-out Raul Jimenez.

If Thelwell and co want to get back in the good books of supporters, then Origi can be the man to not only do that but fill the evident void left behind by the Italian.

The 24-year-old has been out on loan twice during his Liverpool career, and while it remains to be seen what sort of deal Wolves would want, maybe a temporary switch could suit all those involved.

And in other news, Wolves should also look to land this teenage prospect as he's streets above Morgan Gibbs-White...
