Mark Warburton's Queens Park Rangers side have joined the race for Andre Dozzell this summer.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by TWTD, who claim that QPR, alongside Brentford and Blackburn Rovers, are keen on a move for the 22-year-old Ipswich Town midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.

It is reported that, although no bids have been made for the former England U20 international at present, the interested parties are expected to firm up their interest in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, a deal that would see Dozzell depart Portman Road does appear likely, as Paul Cook has informed the academy graduate that he is free to find a new club this summer.

Bhatia must move

While the Tractor Boys have endured something of a season to forget in League One this term, with Cook's side finishing in ninth place in the third tier table, Dozzell was undoubtedly one of the brighter sparks for Ipswich.

Over the £810k-rated man's 43 league appearances, the defensively-minded midfielder made an average of 1.5 interceptions, 1.7 tackles and 1.3 key passes per game, in addition to creating a whopping 10 big chances for his teammates, with these metrics culminating in an impressive average SofaScore match rating of 6.98 - ranking him as the club's joint seventh-best performer in League One.

As such, considering how well the £3.5k-per-week youngster played for the club last season, Cook's decision to allow the midfielder to move onto pastures new this summer does seem a slightly strange one - although this is something that Amit Bhatia must take advantage of.

With Warburton looking to build on a squad that highly impressed in the latter half of last term - with the Rs ranking third in the Championship table from games played in 2021 - ahead of a potential promotion push next season, Dozzell would appear to be both a signing with a great deal of talent, as well as one that could be extremely cost-effective for the QPR chairman - considering the midfielder's rather modest Transfermarkt valuation.

So, we believe that Bhatia must do all he can to convince Dozzell of a move to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this summer, as the midfielder - whom Paul Simpson dubbed as "incredible" - very much appears to have the potential to be a player that Warburton would love at the base of his midfield next term, particularly with Geoff Cameron leaving QPR this summer.
