QPR interested in Keinan Davis

Queens Park Rangers are interested in a move to bring Keinan Davis to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Athletic, who claim that Aston Villa are planning to loan the 23-year-old out for the first half of next season, with nine Championship clubs believed to be interested in a move for the centre-forward.

While the report does not name any of the clubs thought to be keeping tabs on the former England U20 international, it has previously been reported that QPR, along with the likes of Huddersfield Town and Preston North End, were interested in Davis, with this interest likely to have run into the current transfer window.

Would Davis be a good signing for QPR?

Bhatia must move

With Amit Bhatia and Mark Warburton having already enjoyed what looks to have been a very impressive summer transfer window – securing the arrivals of players such as Andre Dozzell, Charlie Austin, Jordy de Wijs and Sam McCallum – the further addition of a player of Davis’ obvious quality would be the cherry on the cake for QPR.

Indeed, while the 23-year-old averaged just 19 minutes on the pitch over his 15 Premier League appearances last season – only one of which came as a start – the £2.7m-rated man nevertheless impressed for Dean Smith’s side, scoring one goal, registering one assist and creating one big chance for his teammates.

These returns saw the man Jack Grealish dubbed “unplayable” earn an average SofaScore match rating of 6.82, an impressive feat considering his extremely limited time on the pitch.

The big QPR 20/21 season review quiz! Question 1: Who was the Rs' top league goalscorer in 20/21?

As such, considering the fact that the £25k-per-week Davis has spent the last two years developing his game in the top flight of English football, should QPR go on to land the striker this summer, we would not bet against him going on to flourish in west London, especially if he were to feature in a front two with a proven Championship goalscorer such as Charlie Austin.

So, it would appear highly advisable for Bhatia to do all he can to get a deal over the line for Davis this summer, as the Aston Villa youngster could well play a key role in Warburton’s promotion push next season.
