Glasgow Rangers travel to Ross County looking to cement their place at the top of the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Steven Gerrard is expected to name a largely-unchanged starting XI to the team that staged a comeback to beat Standard Liege, with some slight tweaks to the formation.
Rangers return to Premiership action for the first time since they fought back to beat the Brussels club in the Europa League at Ibrox on Thursday night.
Ryan Jack remains a major doubt due to injury, whilst Filip Helander, George Edmundson and Nathan Patterson are currently self-isolating, and are therefore unavailable for selection.
Here is our predicted starting line-up for this afternoon’s fixture, with Gerrard making three changes to the team that stunned the Belgians.
Jon McLaughlin may be chomping at the bit, but Allan McGregor will most likely keep the gloves, as the veteran stopper is the trusted man for the big occasions.
In defence, Gerrard is expected to name a relatively unchanged back four to the one which started against the Belgian giants, as Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun will probably continue their partnership at centre-back, but Calvin Bassey could get the nod at left-back after his heroics in the Betfred Cup last weekend.
Ahead of the defence, 28-year-old summer signing Bongani Zungu could come in at the base of the midfield to replace Steven Davis as the Ibrox boss looks to rotate his squad ahead of a busy schedule in the build-up to Christmas, with Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara keeping their places in the starting line-up.
It would be Zungu’s first start in the SPFL and just his third since joining the club.
Upfront, things may get a little bit more interesting, as Gerrard must make a decision over whether to include Alfredo Morelos against the Staggies or drop the Colombian given his lack of form through the middle.
As we mentioned earlier, we believe that the boss will go with the latter, with Jermain Defoe pushing for a recall to the starting line-up.
The 38-year-old will most likely be flanked by the ever-reliable left winger Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe on the right flank, who has bagged five goals and an assist in his past eight games in the Premiership so far this season, via Transfermarkt.
AND in other news, Glasgow Rangers can’t afford to lose Glen Kamara amid interest from abroad…
