After going through a tough set of fixtures following the international break, Glasgow Rangers seemed to have escaped any new injuries to their squad.

Barring Nikola Katic's long-term absence, Steven Gerrard will be secretly pleased with his team's fitness after games against Celtic, Standard Liege, Lech Poznan and Kilmarnock in a short space of time.

However, there are a couple of players who could do with a break, arguably none more so than Rangers left-winger Ryan Kent, who has looked uncharacteristically out of sorts in recent weeks.

What's the story?

The 23-year-old has become an integral part of Gerrard's side after arriving at Ibrox from Liverpool last year and has established himself as a first-team regular starter - which is a huge part of the reason why the Light Blues have bagged 43 goals in 18 games in all competitions this season, as he has contributed ten times himself so far.

When you consider the fact that the Gers parted ways with a mere £7m fee to prise him away from the Reds, it has certainly been money well spent by Gerrard and has set the club up for another title challenge this campaign.

Kent seems to have brought the best out of the rest of his teammates as well, as he has combined with Colombia international Alfredo Morelos on 12 occasions so far, along with club captain James Tavernier six times, who is arguably the club's most important player right now.

Give the man a break!

Once hailed as a "wonderful player" by Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool academy graduate has been a reliable asset but the goals and assists have started to dry up in recent weeks, which should give Gerrard some cause for concern, as he must be careful of him burning out.

In fact, it's worth remembering that Kent has failed to find the back of the next or provide a single assist in the past five fixtures, with his last goal for the Gers coming in the 4-0 win over Dundee United before the international break.

Rangers next face Benfica in the Europa League, before they play back-to-back games at home to Hamilton and Aberdeen at Ibrox respectively. Gerrard needs to use the next two league games in particular to give Kent a well-deserved rest in preparation for the return fixture against Benfica at the end of the month, as Joe Aribo and even Glenn Middleton could deputise on the left wing. He simply cannot afford to run him into the ground, as that would be an unforgivable mistake, which is showing signs of surfacing at any moment.
