Rangers had a fairly productive January transfer window with two additions and a huge handful of outgoings, many of whom left the club on a temporary basis.
One player who was in serious need of game time and perhaps fresh surroundings was Jamie Murphy, as the 30-year-old had featured just twice for the Gers this season, and just 29 times since signing in 2017/18.
It is fair to say that his move has been a bit of a disaster, therefore, but that is not to say he is a bad player, as really he has just been unfortunate with injuries while at Ibrox.
Burton Albion have provided him with an opportunity to start regularly and thankfully for his sake he has seized it with both hands, and his fitness troubles now seem to be a thing of the past.
His form for the Brewers should be giving Steven Gerrard cause for consideration, as he has proved that he may be able to offer something for the Glasgow outfit after all.

"With Sheyi Ojo returning to Liverpool, Gerrard seemingly unwilling to pay £4m for Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent failing to deliver on a regular basis - scoring three times this calendar year - having Jamie Murphy around the squad wouldn't be such a bad idea.
"The 30-year-old may be a neglected figure but this is a man who has come back from serious injuries to a level where he can score goals with great regularity. His form across the border with Burton has been nothing short of exceptional, contributing to eight strikes in ten matches, and because of that Gerrard should be drooling over the prospect of having him back. He might not be the man to bridge the 13 point gap between Rangers and Celtic, but as a squad player, he is certainly a capable body to have at Ibrox.
"The Gers boss would be wise to have a look at him during pre-season but in my eyes, he should still have a future with the Light Blues. Gerrard could look like a fool if he doesn't give Murphy a second opportunity."

"Since joining Burton on loan back in the January transfer window, Jamie Murphy has seemingly made it his mission to prove Rangers wrong in letting him go.
"He wasn't given much of a chance this season under Steven Gerrard, but has been superb in the short spell he has had in League One, firing in seven league goals. The big question for Gerrard is whether he could potentially provide a back-up option to Alfredo Morelos, and Murphy has certainly shown enough to be just that. The 30-year-old deserves a chance to impress back in Scotland, and could be a surprise weapon for Gerrard."

"Jamie Murphy is clearly a talented player. Helping Brighton win promotion to the Premier League suggests as much, and if he is able to stay fit there is no reason why he couldn't prove to be an asset for Steven Gerrard.
"He could serve the team in multiple ways, too. The forward is more than capable of contributing goals and assists, as the stats above show, while his experience of promotion could provide the squad with the level of character needed to win that elusive first trophy under Gerrard.
"Scoring in League One with ease does not guarantee he will do the same in the Scottish Premiership but it is a positive indicator, particularly as he should be playing with better players who can create chances for him with greater regularity, such as 15-assist James Tavernier."
