Glasgow Rangers manager Michael Beale has provided a fitness update ahead of the club's Premiership clash with Motherwell tonight...

What's the latest?

The Light Blues return to action at Ibrox this evening and will be boosted by the return of striker Antonio Colak, alongside Kemar Roofe, Allan McGregor and Borna Barisic.

Beale has also revealed that summer signing John Souttar, who has only made one appearance in the Scottish top flight since his move from Hearts, will be back before February.

He told the club's official Twitter account: "Roofe & Colak have trained, they are obviously not 100% as haven't returned to playing matches but they are both fit. Souttar should be back by end of January, he is doing great with his recovery. McGregor is back fully fit. Barisic is also back and training."

Huge boost

Barisic's return, after his time away at the World Cup, is a welcome one but he should remain on the sidelines due to Adam Devine's impressive performances at left-back in his absence.

The academy graduate has averaged a Sofascore rating of 6.97 across his three starts since the Premiership returned to action after the break and deserves to keep his place in the team.

Colak being back, even if he is not 100% fit, however, is a huge boost for Beale as the lethal Croatian marksman can provide the team with a huge goalscoring lift tonight.

Fashion Sakala, who has scored three goals in nine Premiership matches, and Alfredo Morelos, who has four goals in 15 outings, have filled in at the top end of the pitch in recent weeks and do not offer the same level of threat as the former PAOK man.

The centre-forward, who did not go with Barisic to the World Cup with Croatia, has plundered an eye-catching 11 goals in 14 Scottish top-flight matches this season - averaging a Sofascore rating of 7.35.

Colak has only missed five 'big chances' in the division so far this term, which shows that he is taking the majority of the chances that are coming his way, and he would offer far more than the aforementioned duo for Rangers - scoring four more goals than both of them combined in the league.

The Gers scraped past Ross County with a 1-0 win last time out as they struggled to put the game to bed after John Lundstram's opening strike in the first half and bringing a striker of Colak's calibre back in could help them to put Motherwell to the sword.

He has proven that he can consistently fire in goals at this level and that is why his return for tonight's clash is great news for Beale and Rangers.
