Glasgow Rangers won away from home in the Scottish Premiership for just the second time this season with a resounding 4-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle this afternoon.

The Ibrox side took the lead from an Antonio Colak header in just the sixth minute, and he followed this up by scoring from a tight angle on the half-hour mark to extend the Light Blues' advantage.

Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin was sent off after a rash challenge on winger Rabbi Matondo and this gave Rangers the impetus to attack and try and improve their goal difference.

It should have been 3-0 at the break, but a Scott Arfield goal was ruled out, although strikes from substitute Alfredo Morelos and a first goal of the season for Ryan Kent sealed all three points for the Gers. However, it was summer arrival Colak who stole the show.

"Lethal"

The Croatian has settled into life in Glasgow extremely well, with his two goals against Hearts taking his total to 11 in just 14 matches.

He was given a rating of 8.6 as per SofaScore, the highest rating from either side and his general play was excellent even out with the two goals he scored.

The 29-year-old managed to win 88% of his total duels, proving how strong he is in one-on-one scenarios, while also losing possession just six times and being fouled twice, giving Rangers opportunities from set pieces.

Defensively, the Croatian contributed well, making one clearance and two tackles as he gave his all to make sure the club secured a clean sheet.

Perhaps unsurprisingly considering these impressive statistics, Colak was widely praised by the media for his performance.

Rangers Review journalist Jonny McFarlane dubbed the striker “absolutely lethal”, while Derek Clark said he was “totally besotted with just how deadly Colak is in front of goal.”

High praise for the player who has justified his £1.8m transfer fee that Giovanni van Bronckhorst splashed out to bring him to Ibrox. If he continues like this, the club may have found their ideal Morelos heir.
