A gutting Rangers claim has been made over one of the offside calls against Alfredo Morelos at the weekend in the Premiership...

What's the talk?

BBC pundit and former Scotland international James McFadden has cast doubt over the decision to disallow one of the forward's strikes on Sunday against Motherwell.

The Colombian was adjudged to have been offside as he received the ball on the back foot just inside the box and rifled the ball past the goalkeeper.

McFadden, however, is less than convinced that the linesman got the decision right, with Football Scotland quoting him as saying:

"You can see Bevis Mugabi's right foot is most likely playing Alfredo Morelos onside but we can't see along the line.

"We've not got VAR. We're not going to have VAR for another year at least. What I will say is the assistant is looking straight across the line so you expect him to get it right but they don't always.

"We can't tell for sure whether it's on or not."

Seething

Rangers fans will surely be seething with this claim as it suggests that they have now dropped points due to errors from the officials in back-to-back Premiership matches.

They were held to a 1-1 draw by Dundee United as they were denied what appeared to be two penalties and a potential red card for the home side, with one incident seeing Fashion Sakala hauled to the floor by the back of his shirt as he looked set to smash in a goal from close range.

After that match, Gio van Bronckhorst said: "VAR will make it easier. These decisions that can be turning points, they can change the game but there's no VAR so end of discussion."

He will surely be pushing for VAR once again after seeing his side potentially drop two points because of an error from a linesman. The goal from Morelos could have seen them win the game and pick up all three points, which would have moved them to within one point of Celtic at the top of the table.

Although, not all of the blame for the result can be placed on the officials as Rangers should not have allowed themselves to lose a two-goal lead at halftime.

Irrespective of that, fans will be seething that their side has now lost four points in their last two league outings from what may have been errors from the officials.
