Glasgow Rangers won away from home in the Scottish Premiership for just the second time this season with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle this afternoon.

The Ibrox side took the lead from an Antonio Colak header in just the sixth minute, and he netted again in the 30th minute with a composed finish across Craig Gordon from a tight angle to double the Light Blues’ advantage.

Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin was sent off after a rash challenge on winger Rabbi Matondo and this arguably killed any hope of them getting anything from the tie, giving Rangers an added impetus to attack and improve their goal difference.

It could have been 3-0 at the break but a Scott Arfield goal was ruled out, however, strikes from substitute Alfredo Morelos and a first goal of the season for Ryan Kent in the second half sealed a rather straightforward victory for the Ibrox side in the end.

Colak was outstanding and so was Kent, however, plaudits should be given to an unsung hero…

Lundstram shone for Rangers

Rangers midfielder John Lundstram was in fine form against Hearts, with his SofaScore rating of 7.5 ranking him third in the team, behind Colak (8.6) and Kent (7.9).

Sitting alongside Ryan Jack in a holding midfield role, the Englishman was able to use his excellent passing ability to good effect, and displayed it during the match, boasting a 91% pass success rate while also completing 11 long passes from 12 attempts.

His 91 touches were the third highest in the Rangers team, behind Borna Barisic (97) and James Tavernier (95), as he always looked to get on the ball and make something happen during the tie.

It wasn’t only his ability to contribute going forward which made him so effective, as his defensive attributes were also out in full force.

Lundstram won 75% of his total duels, in addition to making three tackles, one interception and one clearance as he stopped at nothing to prevent Rangers from conceding.

Journalist Josh Bunting lavished praise on the player after his side's second goal, saying: “The pass from John Lundstram is superb.” And this is the type of performance he is capable of giving.

His performances have been great in the Premiership so far this season, now he needs to translate this to European level, otherwise, Rangers could finish bottom of their Champions League group.
