Rangers continued their unbeaten run under new boss Michael Beale with victory over Kilmarnock on Wednesday evening, with the Old Firm outfit recovering from an early setback to clinch a 3-2 victory at Rugby Park.

After having come from behind to see off Aberdeen in the League Cup semi-final on Sunday, the Old Firm giants again made hard work of it last night, with Christopher Stokes heading home inside six minutes after Jon McLaughlin had failed to adequately deal with Danny Armstrong's inswinging corner.

The visitors soon hit back, however, as Alfredo Morelos tapped home at the back post, before fellow contract rebel Ryan Kent lashed in after the break to complete the turnaround.

The Ibrox outfit's road to victory was then made somewhat easier as the aforementioned Armstrong then saw red on the hour mark, before that man Morelos continued his mini-resurgence after bagging his seventh league goal of the season with a well-taken header.

Although Joe Wright's stunning volley did ensure some late nerves for Beale and co, the Gers were ultimately able to hang on for a valuable three points to avoid losing further ground on rivals Celtic.

That hard-fought encounter will likely see Morelos steal the headlines for his clinical brace, although it was arguably fellow forward Kent who caught the eye, with the Englishman having been one of the "most improved players" under the new manager, according to journalist Josh Bunting.

A player who appears to have "rediscovered himself" since the change in the dugout - as per Bunting - the one-time Liverpool man offered a constant threat in his attacking berth, having recorded 90 touches in total, while also enjoying a remarkable pass accuracy rate of 93%.

That quality in the final third was also evident as the Oldham-born maestro completed two of his three dribbles on the night, while also putting in a shift defensively after recording two interceptions and one tackle.

Having looked as if he was suffering a "severe lack of confidence" earlier in the campaign, according to pundit Neil McCann, the £18k-per-week wizard is starting to find his feet again with Beale at the helm, after scoring two goals in his last three league games.

There is still an accusation that he 'needs to produce more often', although the 26-year-old is 'clearly a quality player' - as per Glasgow Live's Alan Galindo - with the aim to truly put a consistent run together between now and the end of the season.

Although the lingering questions over his long-term future in Glasgow remain - with just six months to run on his current deal - on the evidence of this latest outing it seems that Kent is firmly focused on the job at hand.
