Glasgow Rangers are back in Scottish Premiership action against Motherwell on Saturday lunchtime and, with the title race still not over, three points are a must for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men.

The Gers head into the league tie following a confidence-boosting win over Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final last week and this should tell the Dutchman exactly what to expect from his squad going forward.

The tie against Motherwell was due to take place on Sunday, but at Rangers' request, the side agreed to move the match to Saturday allowing the Ibrox side more time to prepare for their Europa League clash against RB Leipzig on Thursday.

So, here's what we believe the Dutchman's Rangers side could look like against Motherwell.

Predicted XI

Although Jon Mclaughlin played against Celtic, Van Bronckhorst may well put Allan McGregor back in the between the posts for league duty, the 34-year-old performed well in the semi-final against Celtic and might feel hard done by.

In defence, the back four will be made up of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic in what is an unchanged defensive lineup from last weekend.

With Ross Wilson describing Aaron Ramsey as a "leader" following his signing, it is disappointing that he is ruled out for the tie, which could well see Steven Davis starting alongside the £30k-per-week John Lundstram - who Billy Sharp dubbed a "real menace" - and Ryan Jack in a midfield three - offering stability in the heart of the pitch.

Further forward, following the news of Kemar Roofe also being ruled out for a few weeks, we could see the £10k-per-week Fashion Sakala - who Alan Hutton labelled a "firework" - starting, alongside Ryan Kent and Joe Aribo - with this makeshift front three looking to exploit the Steelmen’s backline and cause all sorts of problems.

Rangers team to face Motherwell: McGregor (GK), Barisic (LB), Goldson (CB), Bassey (CB), Tavernier (RB), Lundstram (CM), Jack (CM), Davis (CM), Sakala (LW), Kent (CF) and Aribo (RW)
