A major Rangers transfer claim has emerged over Ibrox centre-forward Alfredo Morelos...

What's the talk?

The Daily Record have reported that the attacker has switched agencies to join FootFeel, who are said to have a track record of securing Serie A transfers.

Charlie Nicholas has reacted to this news by claiming that Morelos will be on his way out of the Gers in the summer and that they should accept £10m for his services.

He wrote in The Express, via the Daily Record: "The fact Alfredo Morelos has changed his agent can mean only one thing - he's 100 per cent guaranteed to be leaving Rangers this summer.

"A lot of players run down their contracts, but I would expect Rangers to sell Morelos in the last year of his deal.

"They knocked back £15million a couple of years ago, but if an offer of around £10m is put on the table for the 25-year-old hitman then Rangers should grab it."

GvB will be livid

Gio van Bronckhorst will surely be livid with this claim, as losing Morelos would come as a major blow to his Rangers squad heading into next season.

The Colombian is the club's top scorer in the Premiership and has been in fantastic form since the Dutchman replaced Steven Gerrard at the helm. 'Club legend' is not a term which should be thrown around lightly, but Morelos' goalscoring record with the Glasgow giants surely puts him in contention to earn that tag, with 113 goals and 51 assists in 222 matches across all competitions.

He has proven his quality over the course of numerous seasons and there is no guarantee that Ross Wilson will be able to find a suitable replacement for the £10m that Nicholas believes Rangers will get. Scoring goals is arguably the hardest thing to do in football, and players who have proven that they can do it at the top level cost a lot of money for obvious reasons, so that is why replacing Morelos would be no easy task.

Van Bronckhorst will therefore be livid with this news because of what it could mean heading into the summer window. The Colombian's exit would leave a gigantic hole at the top end of the pitch and severely weaken the side, as they would be losing his goals and assists which change games and win points for Rangers domestically and in Europe.

However, this is all purely speculation at this moment in time. Hopefully Morelos has made this switch in agencies for reasons aside from a potential transfer and he will continue to be an important player for the club moving forward.
