A Rangers transfer claim has been made regarding what the club could do in the market this month...

What's the talk?

David Edgar has provided an insight into a timeline the fans can expect to see in regards to incoming over the coming weeks.

He told The Heart & Hand podcast, via Ibrox News: “I think there’s a few pieces of business done early. Then, I can see a quiet middle of the month. Then, maybe, and I say I’m not 100%, maybe there may be something towards the end of the window.

“I think there will be some stuff that happens this week, and then if you were asking me to put money on it, there probably won’t be anything happening until later in the window.

“The situation is fluid, it will change, it will develop. I don’t think people are expecting half a dozen in.”

Fans could be excited

The Heart & Hand podcast is an official Rangers media partner, and this suggests that Edgar may have the insider track on the club's January plans. Therefore, fans could get excited by his insight into how the window could go for the Gers, as he is predicting several pieces of business.

James Sands has already arrived from New York City FC on an 18-month loan and Edgar appears to believe that there is more to come this week. John Souttar and Danilho Doekhi have both been linked with switches to Ibrox, but it remains to be seen what the club will do on that front.

Transfer season can be an exciting time for supporters when it comes to incomings, and fans should be buzzing with the prospect of Rangers adding more players to their squad before the end of the month. They are currently top of the Premiership table and are in the knockout stages of the Europa League, and strengthening their squad could improve their chances of achieving success in both competitions.

It is down to Ross Wilson and Giovanni van Bronckhorst to realise these plans and ensure that they are able to make the right signings, but for now the fans can feel excited simply by the prospect of new signings to anticipate between now and the end of the month. Hopefully Rangers will be able to add to their squad, as Edgar expects them to do, and win multiple trophies at the end of the season.
