A reliable journalist has dropped a Glasgow Rangers transfer update regarding attacking midfielder Angelo Fulgini.

What’s the news?

Journalist Nabil Djellit tweeted about Fulgini and how the Ibrox side have made an offer for the player, saying: “On the start, Angelo Fulgini has an offer from Rangers. The midfielder is also of interest to Mainz. The Bundesliga side could more easily approach SCO expectations. The L1 club is hoping for €7m to buy out the player's last year of contract.”

In summary, Angers are looking to receive an offer of around £6m in order to sell Fulgini this summer, with the player entering the last year of his contract.

Big coup for Van Bronckhorst

The first few weeks of the transfer window saw Rangers fall behind Celtic in terms of incoming arrivals, but the previous few days have seen two new signings, with the potential for more.

Antonio Colak and Tom Lawrence both arrived at Ibrox and these two moves will bolster the Gers' attack heading into the new season.

It hasn’t been all good news, however, with Joe Aribo joining Southampton in a deal worth in excess of £10m. The onus is now on the Dutchman to find a suitable replacement, and Fulgini would be a big coup.

The 25-year-old scored five goals and grabbed a further four assists in Ligue 1 last season whilst averaging a respectable WhoScored rating of 6.81, enough to rank him fourth in the Angers squad.

Fulgini also created six big chances in 2021/22, in addition to making an average of 1.4 key passes and having 1.6 shots per match, showing that his creative instinct is a big strength and this is what Rangers will require following the Nigeria international departure.

Journalist Robin Bairner said that “there is a chance Fulgini goes to Rangers.” And this will give further hope to the Ibrox faithful that a deal can be sorted.

At £6m, the chances are it might not happen, but with the fee from the Aribo sale, Van Bronckhorst might just be tempted.
