Rangers: Van Bronckhorst can form dream duo with Ryan Kent

Rangers have just under two weeks left to complete any remaining business on their agenda before the end of the summer transfer window.

Ross Wilson may still have work to do despite a busy few months of selling and signing players to bolster Gio van Bronckhorst’s squad.

Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey have both been sold, whilst Ridvan Yilmaz, John Souttar, Ben Davies, Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence, and Malik Tillman have been brought to Ibrox.

It will now be interesting to see whether or not the Gers chief dips into the market for another addition before September’s deadline.

Rangers have been linked with a swoop for Midtjylland attacking midfielder Evander this month, although there have been conflicting reports on the subject.

Should Rangers sign Evander?

No

The Scottish Express have claimed that the Light Blues are not interested in him, whilst Football Scotland say that the club have an eye on the Brazilian talent but may struggle to get a deal done due to the potential finances involved.

It has also been reported that the Gers are still in the market to sign a midfielder, which could open the door to a move for Evander.

Irrespective of which report you choose to believe, Wilson must now do all he can to swoop for the 24-year-old as he can form a dream partnership with Ryan Kent at the top end of the pitch.

The Midtjylland star is capable of playing in central midfield or as a number 10 and he could link up with the Gers winger whilst playing as the latter.

In the Danish Superliga last season, he racked up 12 goals and six assists, creating 12 ‘big chances’ and making 2.5 key passes per game. That haul has taken him to 43 goals in total for his current side which shows that he has the quality to score goals and create opportunities for his teammates on a regular basis.

What nationality does Mateusz Zukowski represent?

Would he suit the Scottish giants, though? Well, Rangers Review quoted reporter Joshua Barrie as stating that the £7.3k-per-week gem “possesses clear desirable traits for a van Bronckhorst-style attacking midfielder” which should be music to the ears of Gers supporters.

His statistics in Denmark indicate that he would thrive in an attacking team that creates chances for him to score, whilst allowing him to receive the ball enough times to work his own magic.

In the last two Premiership campaigns, Kent produced 12 goals and 17 assists – creating 19 ‘big chances’ – and averaged 1.7 key passes or higher per match in that time.

These stats indicate that he could make a dream pairing with Evander as they both have the quality to create openings for each other in the final third, whilst they have both proven that they can be dangerous in front of goal.

This means that they could devastate opposition teams this season by exchanging passes to find the back of the net, which is why Wilson must work hard to bring the Brazilian to Ibrox.
