Rangers can land their own Frank Lampard in deal for Adem Zorgane

Glasgow Rangers kick off their 2022/23 campaign with a Premiership match next weekend and have bolstered their squad with a host of new signings in the summer transfer window.

Ross Wilson raked in the funds from the sales of Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo and put them to good use to improve Gio van Bronckhorst’s team.

He has brought in John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence, and Ben Davies on permanent deals, whilst a move for Ridvan Yilmaz is also in the works.

The Turkish international left-back may not be the last player to come through the door at Ibrox this summer, though, as the Light Blues have been linked with additions in the middle of the park.

Journalist Nabil Djellit recently claimed that Rangers had a bid rejected for Charleroi central midfielder Adem Zorgane this month.

Van Bronckhorst must now push the club to sign the Algerian talent as the 22-year-old can be his own version of Frank Lampard in midfield.

Talent scout Jacek Kulig likened the £2.5k-per-week gem to the Chelsea and England legend – who scored 210 goals and registered 147 assists in 647 games for the Blues – whilst rating his potential at 8.5/10.

He also explained the gem’s talents, tweeting:

“Adem Zorgane is an extremely strong and versatile player with some very good technical skills. He can play almost anywhere in midfield – as a deep-lying orchestrator, box-to-box midfielder and even advanced playmaker if needed. One of the most talented players in Algeria.”

The box-to-box maestro showcased his talents on Saturday in the opening game of the 2022/23 Pro League season. He recorded a SofaScore rating of 7.6 as he assisted a goal, completed 100% (3/3) of his attempted dribbles, made three tackles, and won six of his 10 duels.

What nationality does Mateusz Zukowski represent?

This comes after he enjoyed a superb 2021/22 campaign for Charleroi. He scored three goals and assisted eight in 36 outings, whilst also making 3.1 tackles and interceptions per game as he showed that he can operate effectively at both ends of the pitch.

Therefore, he can be van Bronckhorst’s own Lampard by coming to Rangers and being a dynamic number eight who gets stuck in off the ball and then has the quality to make things happen in the final third in possession.

That is why the Light Blues must go back in for him to snap up a deal after the arrival of Yilmaz, to further strengthen their squad for 2022/23,
