A major update has emerged on Rangers' attempts to improve Gio van Bronckhorst's squad in Glasgow...

What's the talk?

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, the Gers have submitted a €6m (£5m) offer to sign Bologna winger Andreas Skov Olsen.

The report claims that the bid is not enough to secure his services, but the Scottish giants are the team seemingly leading the pack of interested clubs at this moment in time as he looks set to leave the Italian side.

Ibrox rocking

Van Bronckhorst must ensure that Rangers are able to secure a swoop for the forward as he could be a player who gets Ibrox rocking with his exciting style of play.

The 22-year-old has been showing off his quality at international level for Denmark and has bags of experience in the Serie A relative to his age. He has already played 68 times in the Italian top-flight for Bologna, showing that he knows what it takes to perform at the top level, which could bode well for a potential move to Rangers where the pressure will be on for him to help the club win week-in-week-out.

Olsen has also been capped 15 times by Denmark and scored six goals for his country. In seven starts (10 appearances) in World Cup qualifiers, he has produced an exceptional five goals and three assists. He averaged a WhoScored rating of 7.39 in those matches, whilst creating 1.8 chances and completing 0.7 dribbles per game to go along with his contributions in the final third.

This suggests that the £28k-per-week dynamo is an exciting player to watch as he is able to beat players with the ball at his feet and create chances for his teammates on a regular basis. He has also shown that he has the quality to provide goals and assists when he gets into good positions, netting 30 times in his senior career, rather than being all bark with no bite out on the right-wing.

Therefore, the signing of Olsen could get Ibrox rocking as he'd surely be able to come in and make crucial contributions at the top end of the pitch.

His form for his country suggests that he has the ability to chip in with goals and assists and his dangerous wing play would get fans off their seats in excitement, which is why van Bronckhorst must make sure that an increased offer goes in this month.
