Rangers have been quite active in the transfer market over the past few years when it comes to bringing new players to the club.

One such swoop who has gone on to be an important figure for the Gers, and a great piece of business from the Scottish champions, is Borna Barisic, who made the move to Ibrox in 2018 in a deal worth a reported £2.2m.

Since then, the Croatian - who is currently picking up £18k-per-week according to Salary Sport - has gone on to make 143 appearances for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side across all competitions, chipping in with seven goals and 35 assists along the way.

In addition to his fine goal contribution record since his arrival, the full-back's performances in the Premiership this season have shown just what a pivotal figure he is for Rangers, with WhoScored giving him an overall rating of 7.2/10, making him the fifth-highest rated player in Van Bronckhorst's squad.

With an average of 2.1 tackles per game in the league in 2021/22, higher than any other Gers player to have started more than two games for the Gers, it's not just in front of goal that the full-back - who has been labelled "consistent" in the past by Steven Gerrard - has proved his worth to the team.

The 29-year-old's previous display for the club in their 1-0 win over Aberdeen was a prime example of what he's all about by making three tackles, two interceptions and two clearances. He also won seven of his nine duels, provided two key passes and completed both dribbles that he attempted.

Back in January 2019, just a few months after he arrived at Ibrox, Transfermarkt had Barisic's market value listed as £1.8m. It now stands at £5.4m, showing an increase of 145% from the £2.2m fee that the club shelled out for him four years ago.

This highlights what a good bit of transfer business it was to get him to Rangers and how much he has delivered for the club on the pitch since then.
