Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after Kristoffer Ajer's agent revealed that he will leave the club this summer.

The 14-cap Norway international has made 49 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops this season, although it could be his last campaign at Celtic Park if his agent is to be believed.

Tore Pedersen told NTB (via Sporten): "He does not extend with Celtic and disappears this summer".

The 21-year-old has previously attracted interest from Premier League outfit Leicester, managed by ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers. According to 90min, the Foxes believe they can land the youngster for less than £20m.

90min have also revealed in the past the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to bring Ajer to Old Trafford - in that case, Leicester or Manchester United could be two potential destinations for the centre-back if he does leave Scotland this summer.

Let's see what the Celtic fans on Twitter have been saying about this news...

To kick off the reaction, these three fans all seemed at ease with the prospect of seeing Ajer leave the club.

This very much seems like a reactionary bunch of comments to what should be perceived as negative news.

While Ajer was criticised for his display against Copenhagen recently, he has received glowing endorsements from a number of footballing figures such as Rodgers and Neil Lennon, while fans reacted with disappointment to a report stating that AC Milan wanted him - one even described the centre-back as the future of the club.

Elsewhere, another fan name-dropped Leo Fuhr Hjelde as a player who is better than Ajer - the 16-year-old is currently in Celtic's youth ranks, so probably isn't better than a full international who is supposedly wanted by Manchester United.

Another fan said Ajer's form has been rotten for most of this season - that seems harsh, as the Norwegian was recently praised after winning the game for Celtic against Aberdeen, and while that isn't enough to deem his season as amazing, every player can have ups and downs.
