Celtic have completed the £3.5m signing of Patryk Klimala on a four-and-a-half year deal.

The 21-year-old striker moves to Celtic Park as something of an unknown entity in Scotland, though there is no doubt his YouTube highlight reels will have taken a significant upturn in viewership in the last 24 hours and given fans a glimpse of what to expect.

Away from YouTube, those who know Klimala have been vocal about what the club can expect from their new signing. Bodvar Bodvarsson, who currently plays for the side Celtic signed their new striker from, Jaiellonia Bialystok, has delivered a lengthy verdict on the 21-year-old's talent, per The Herald.

There was one aspect of his verdict that particularly stood out and offered an insight into the striker's style, particularly when his side aren't in possession.

"[Patryk] is a hard worker on the pitch and runs a lot for the team. He's quick and, defensively, he's good at pressuring. He's fast and strong as well and, as I can imagine the Scottish leagues are a bit physical, he will be up for that."

The Icelandic defender's comments suggest Klimala's sceptics should have some reason for optimism regarding his playing style.

There is something about a lazy striker that supporters simply detest. Nothing makes a fans' blood boil quite like the sight of a lethargic forward half-heartedly ambling towards the opposition defender with a level of purpose akin to that seen by an overweight, hungover, Sunday league equivalent.

The minimum expectation is a desire to lead from the front and a willingness to relinquish every last bit of energy from the proverbial tank in exchange for three points. Bodvarsson's verdict suggests the Paradise faithful won't find themselves bemoaning the output of the new recruit's work-rate.

Perhaps he will struggle to find the net. Perhaps he will hit the ground running and become the next hidden gem to be unearthed by the Scottish champions.

But regardless of his early form in front of goal, the fans will want to be enthused by his work rate.

If Bodvarsson's comments are anything to go by, Klimala's sceptics will at least be endeared by his dedication in the coming weeks and that should ensure he will make an instant impact at the club, regardless of whether he threatens Edouard's place in the starting XI or not.
