Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is on the verge of sealing a reunion with Scott Sinclair, with the Aston Villa ace set to undergo a medical with the Scottish club after a deal was agreed, according to reports from the Daily Record.
The 27-year-old starred for the Ulsterman’s Swansea side during their promotion-winning 2010/11 campaign, netting 19 goals in the process.
He remained with the Swans in the top tier before being lured away to Manchester City, where his career stagnated before a switch to Villa, with whom he was relegated last term.
Celtic have been chasing him in recent weeks, but after having multiple bids rejected reports claim that an agreement has been reached for the winger, who is undergoing a medical in Glasgow.
The Villans’ stance has somewhat swayed since the arrival of Ross McCormack, which has swelled Roberto Di Matteo’s attacking ranks.
Assuming the deal goes through as planned, Sinclair will join Moussa Dembele and Kolo Toure as Rodgers’ third addition since joining Celtic.
