Celtic could continue their defensive re-shuffle with a loan move for Manchester United‘s Paddy McNair if Jose Mourinho makes him available for the 2016/17 season, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The Bhoys made headlines north of the border over the weekend by snapping up recently released Liverpool centre-back Kolo Toure.
Although the Ivorian is now 35-years-old, he boasts serious levels of experience from spells with Arsenal, Manchester City and the Reds, and will, judging by his performances as the Anfield club reached the Europa League Final a matter of months ago, go some way to papering over cracks in Brendan Rodgers’ inherited backline.
And reports claim that the Northern Irishman could make another rearguard signing, with McNair is also wanted.
The 21-year-old appears unlikely to get much game time under Mourinho this coming season at Old Trafford following the arrival of Eric Bailly, with ‘The Special One’ known to go for experience over promise, especially in the back third of the pitch.
A decision on the EURO 2016 starlet is expected to be made in August.
