Celtic could land ‘new Messi’ on amazing loan deal

Celtic could secure a stunning loan deal for Real Madrid’s teenage sensation Martin Odegaard in the future, according to reports from The Scotsman.

The 16-year-old joined Los Blancos in January, and despite his age he’s already a full Norway international and has been likened to Lionel Messi thanks to his neat dribbling style and eye for goal.

Celtic chief Ronny Deila played a big part on Odegaard’s breakthrough at Stromgodset – he’s the youngest ever player to feature in the Tippeligaen after making his debut at 15 – and reports suggest that the teen’s high regard for his former boss could open the door for a loan move if Real see fit to send him away to gain experience.

The youngster is currently playing for the Madrid giants’ ‘B’ team, but spending time with a senior squad may accelerate his development.

Odegaard is also the youngest ever goalscorer in Norwegian league football’s history and has been tipped to graduate to Real’s first-team squad in the not too distant future.
