Celtic are explroring a possible January deal to sign Maccabi Netanya striker Olarenwaju Kayode, according to The Scotsman.
The 21-year-old Nigeria international netted times for loan club Netanya last season, which earned him a permanent move from ASEC Mimosas in the summer.
Celtic have sent representatives to watch him on a number of occasions this season and manager Ronny Deila believes he could add further competition to his front line of John Guidetti, Stefan Scepovic and Leigh Griffiths.
It is believed Celtic see Kayode as the perfect man to fit their transfer policy of buying cheaply and then selling for huge profit in the future, although Deila is wary of the striker’s lack of experience.
But, with Koyade’s agent previously being involved in the arrivals of Efe Ambrose, Nir Biton, Rami Gershon and Beram Keyal at Celtic Park, the Glasgow giants are expected to go through with a deal on the basis of trust.
But they will have to fend off competition from Standard Liege, who see Koyade as the ideal palyer to help fire them higher up the Belgian Pro League, where they currently occupy eighth place.
