BBC journalist Tom English has blasted Celtic's attitude after their embarrassing Champions League exit on Tuesday, and it's a statement that the fans can agree with.

Celtic were dumped out of the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of Romanian champions CFR Cluj, falling to a 5-4 aggregate defeat. A 4-3 loss at Parkhead on Tuesday ensured Celtic will not play Champions League football for the second season running.

This result has angered the fans, who expected more from their side against Cluj in what should've been a winnable tie. The supporters have started pointing fingers, with goalkeeper Scott Bain and captain Scott Brown receiving the worst of it.

English, though, thinks that the mantra 'we are a Champions League club' is holding the Celts back in Europe.

Despite being dominant domestically, the journalist questions why a club that has made so much money of late is being put out of a European competition by a Romanian side with far inferior finances - an idea the fans clearly support.

Here's how the fans reacted to English's criticism of their club on Twitter...
